Yura Sviatkovskyi, Chortkiv

Tuesday. The last pair of lessons is coming to its end. I’m sitting at the first desk. I turn back and over the classroom, noticing that everyone has left it in his mind. Everybody is thinking about what to do after the lesson. Then I look at my watch and begin to count every second to the end of the lesson. I think that every student understands me in this moment. Finally, I can see that it’s time for the bell to ring, I can smell my freedom, I‘m imagining spending my free time, I feel like I’ve just won a great battle. It happened, the bell rang. Without wasting any second, I take my bag, stand up saying “good-bye” to my teacher and start going to the doors. But unexpectedly my teacher says, “Where are you going, Yura?! It was the end of the first lesson of the pair. There is still the second one ahead.”

These teacher’s words destroyed all my hopes and dreams. In this moment my mood fell down from the sky to the ground. It was a very unpleasant surprise to my mind. The biggest wave of disappointment that I’ve ever felt covered me and I sat down waiting for the second lesson
